Winter in October!

From David:

John,
Winter has arrived in Maine, and I must say it is too early!
Enclosed are two pictures, Mark with his creation, and pumpkins that are
shocked with their "white hair".

Alicia called last night, it was snowing in New Hampshire as well! We have nice 80° weather here!

We have had another very busy weekend, we were not home for one meal! Friday night we went to Fiddlers as usual, Saturday morning we had an early condo meeting where we learned that they plan to clear more of the estuary midstory to get us even better view of the water, then we were off to visit Dad H.  Got dad all set up on the computer, and even got in a game of cribbage. Dad loaned us a stack of pictures I will scan and get up on the genealogy page next month. After returning from Zephyrhills we went to the GUAVAWEEN celebration in Ebor City. It is getting more like New Orleans every year, but even more crowded because it is only one night. Then yesterday we spent the whole day in Sarasota with Mom and Dad L. We went to a concert in the park and played cribbage (while Denise and her mom played the violin and piano!).

I have had several requests for a program that reads your mail to you (as well as the news, the time, etc.) It is located at:

http://thecyberbuddy.com

It seems to work well for the blind.

News from the Fiddlers:

Also, we got a domain for BAFA!!!! and it's FREE!!!!! knowing people in
high places pays off..... :-p   Anywayz, it's at www.bayareafiddlers.com
Someone had bafa.com, and I thought bayareafiddlersassociation would be too
long, so I think it'll be perfect. I've updated the site some too.

Oh, and I have to share some good news with SOMEONE.....and I figured you
guys might wanna know anyway. :) I'm flying to NYC on Wednesday....because
I'm gonna be on the Maury Povich show.....and I get to FIDDLE on it!!!!! I'm
sooo excited. My tv debut.....right? lol.
Have a great trip!
Lauren

Only a couple of days before we leave!!!!!! See you soon Amy and Nate!

We are busy people, with Fiddlers; taking down the outside spiral staircase; building the deck back (filling in the hole); and having people over. Denise is having fun in her new job working over the internet, the company plays the dictation (allowing her to back up and start again whenever and wherever she needs to) remotely (over the net) and Denise types into Word. When she is done she e-mails the finished document off! They use AOL Instant Messenger to answer any questions and NetMeeting to remotely operate her computer when they need to!

OK everyone, we have finally decided on an ISP, hopefully this will last.  Our new e-mail address is [on the Family Data Page]  We would love to hear from all of you, and hope that this message finds you all well.  We are doing well in our new house.  Michelle is feeling good, and the baby has started to move.  Corbin is growing fast, and getting more words every day.  He is very smart.  Jim is liking his new job as an Engineering Technician.  We are all preparing for the winter and enjoying the beautiful scenery here in the north east in the fall.  Take care,
The Herricks

Pictures of Amy's Sarah (with an "h") can be found using the BABYPAGE and clicking on her web page link under her picture.

Hints I never seem to remember....if you have a mouse with a wheel....

1. place the mouse over a web page, hold down the Ctrl key, rotate the wheel and the text will get larger or smaller! You can adjust it to suit----try it here!

2. After surfing the web for a while, hold down the Shift key and rotate the wheel and you can go back and forth through pages you have recently opened!

Busy weekend: Fiddlers Friday night, the old "Pimp Mo" (as Nate named it) finally died (blown head gasket, freon leak and transmission problem per the tests run on it) so got a new Volvo on Saturday, then we spent 13 hours playing on the Alafia River Sunday! We had a great time.
We are planning to fly to Norfolk on the 1st (my birthday!) to drive up from there to visit Amy and her new one; born on Friday the 13th under a full moon!

Time for more BABY PICTURES:

Angelyne at 6 months

Emma at 10 months

Time flies, we have been very busy, with the Fiddlers Association, mostly. I put together a Visual FoxPro program to enter and retrieve data relative to the members. Denise then entered the data they had and called all the almost 60 members to fill in more data. We spent 20 hours this weekend on it, in addition to going on the American Heart Association Walkathon.

Amy called to say that she was going to be a mom sometime between Friday Oct 13 and Wednesday October 18!

Darrell sent some photos, too; here is one fitting the upcoming season:

Some changes:

Thanks to all of you voting on the name, still deciding on whether to move the page or not.

I am sure some of you have been noticing something funny going on with the background! I made the background change every 4 hours. After I added the background for one time period I found that it was not the file I thought it was and changed it, I thought! Will try again!

We spent a half hour on the computer last night with Nathan, Christine and little Nate. The camera's worked well - we could see each other very well, but the sound did not work. Sounded like Martians were landing. Just a lot of squawks. It was fun seeing them though and we communicated via chat. Anyone else got a camera? We used iVisit, a free program.

My car is self healing, I guess. It has stopped hissing at me anyway, it looses about two gallons of water a day which I have no trouble refilling. Dave says "It sounds more like a heater hose that goes to the carburetor."  Sounds much less expensive!!!

We are anxious to take off on our trip!

Dad H. has got a new car! It is a 1995 silver Ford Escort Wagon. He got it a local dealer and is quite proud of it!
I may need a new car too. I think the head gasket blew, steam and water are coming off the top of the engine, I cannot see where because the carburetion system is in the way.... David, you care to come down and have fun taking apart a car?

Dad wanted to thank Amy for all her help.

Denise and I want to thank her parents for the wonderful plates they gave us, too!!
